More Hilgenbergs from the US of A

My name is Lena Marie Hilgenberg I am 18 years old and from Mattoon Illinois USA. I am the proud daughter of James Joseph Hilgenberg. My Grandfather was Paul Hilgenberg (Deceased) and his father was Joseph Hilgenberg (Deceased). I know that Joseph’s father was named Wilhelm (not sure of the spelling), who had two other brothers. Though I do not know one of the brother’s names, I know the other was called Fredrick.
I began my search a couple of days ago, my main objective was to figure out some information and background that I could give to my father Jim as a Christmas gift. I would also love to one day walk the ground from where my name came from. I would also like to know the meaning of our strong family name.
