Hilgenbergs Worldwide

Joyce Jeffries from Bedford, Indiana, USA wrote to tell me she’s a great great great great ganddaughter of Daniel Hilgenberg who was born in September 1752 in Roehrenfurth, Hesse, (Kassel) Germany. His parents were Christian Hilgenberg and Anna Sinning Hilgenberg.

She believes that her family changed the name to Hillenburg in the generation after that.

She writes tells me she has some limited information regarding Hilgenbergs in the Russell County Kansas area. She’ll will post it soon along with some pictures. Her grandfather was Alvin (or Alven) Christian Hilgenberg. He was the youngest of several brothers and sisters. She believes that he also had some connection to Colorado.

It’s getting colder and it seems to be the time of year when there’s a lot of banging going on. Every evening, as soon as it gets dark the neighbourhood is filled with bangs and lights in the sky - but the cheap variety! But I don’t care once Celia and Timothy are back, I just curl up with them and have a nice snooze.

A long time back I was sent some pictures… finally I’ve had a chance to scan them in and add them to the site - they were taken in July/August of 1954, when George and Hedwig with daughter Marie went on a trip to Germany to visit relatives…. enjoy!
